It's a simple fact that systemic enzymes are important to our health. Systemic enzymes are absolutely essential to maintaining a healthy body and an active lifestyle. Your body uses systemic enzymes to rebalance the inflammatory response and fine-tune repair processes to help you recover from injury and disease. Fortunately, you can replenish your supply with the naturally occurring enzymes in Wobenzym.

Wobenzym is recommended for:

• Healthy Joints • Improved Mobility • Robust circulation • Healthy Aging • Normalized Inflammation • Sports Injury Recuperation

While other products – like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) — offer quick but temporary solutions, Wobenzym empowers your body to heal itself. Wobenzym is the most thoroughly researched systemic enzyme supplement available to support your good health.

Why Wobenzym®?

You may wonder how one product can do so many different things! People use Wobenzym to enhance joint health, promote circulation, boost the immune system, recover from sports and work injuries...and much more. Wobenzym can do so much because it works at the most fundamental level of biochemistry — by supplementing the body's need for enzymes.

Why do I need enzymes?

When you are young, the body produces most of the enzymes it needs to maintain healthy joints, a strong immune system, robust circulation and overall good health. However, in some cases, enzymes can be "used up" faster than the body can manufacture them. Especially with age, the body loses its ability to produce enough enzymes to keep up with its own demand. This can leave a person vulnerable to a wide range of health problems, which is why Wobenzym is so important.

What are "systemic" enzymes?

You may be familiar with digestive enzymes that work in the stomach and intestine to enhance digestion. Wobenzym is different! Each tablet is enterically coated so that the enzymes pass through the digestive tract and enter the bloodstream in their natural form. As the circulatory system delivers these highly purified enzymes throughout the body along with nutrients and oxygen, Wobenzym exerts its benefits systemically to all your tissues and organs.

How does Wobenzym® work?

The enzymes in Wobenzym break down certain proteins in the body. It may seem strange to break down proteins, since they are essential to life. However, some proteins can be quite harmful to joints, organs and tissue. Wobenzym works like a biological "vacuum cleaner" to rid the blood of these harmful proteins.

Oral proteolytic enzymes, much like vitamins, are active in a variety of inflammatory pathways. Most of these functions involve the turning on and turning off of various feedback reactions meant to effectively gain control of inflammatory processes. Among their actions:

  • Bolstering the immune system by favorably modulating cytokine release.
  • Inhibiting transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β).
  • Inhibiting fibrin deposition, hence decreasing clot formation, and improving circulation
  • Slowing the aging process by limiting fibrosis and sclerosis by its "anti-adhesive molecule" actions.
  • Enhancing tissue repair by rapid elimination of foreign proteins (e.g. dissolution of circulating immune complexes) and mobilizing edema.

The following postulated anti-inflammatory mechanism aptly describes how systemic oral enzymes exert their physiological effects:

In the traumatized, inflamed area, various repair mechanisms are activated, but may not be maximally operational. Fibrin deposition, microthrombi and stasis results. The injured area becomes disconnected from the normal circulatory system. Systemic oral enzymes, after absorption, are bound in complexes (e.g. alpha-2 macroglobulin) and circulate to the injured area from the bloodstream. Proteolytic enzymes directly attack the microclots, target and digest foreign proteins, denaturing them and eliminating them by stimulating the fast form of alpha 2-macroglobulin.1

Is Wobenzym® safe?

Clinical studies have found that Wobenzym has no serious adverse side effects even in extremely large doses. If you are taking blood-thinning medication, you should consult with your physician before taking Wobenzym.

A Masterpiece of Science and Nature

When extracted, enzymes quickly lose their activity and health benefits. That is why Wobenzym is made with a painstaking process to maintain its full biological activity. This involves over 20 proprietary technologies developed by MUCOS. For example, each tablet must be enteric-coated to survive the acid in the stomach. Standard coating equipment creates too much heat and would destroy enzymes. So MUCOS sprays a partial coating on each tablet seven separate times, allowing the tablets to cool for an hour between each coating, until they are fully protected to withstand the acidity of the stomach.

MUCOS Pharma also contracts wit h farms around the world where pineapple and papaya are frown (from which bromelain and papain are derived). These crops are then transported to highly automated processing facilities run by MUCOS, where the enzymes are extracted at near 100% purity ensures the consistent quality of the enzymes in Wobenzym, and that no genetically modified plants are ever used.

Proven Safe and Effective

More than 160 clinical studies have been conducted on Wobenzym, and they clearly back the original findings of Drs. Max Wolf, Helen Benitez and Karl Ransberger. Theses studies also show that Wobenzym is extremely safe, and has none of the adverse side effects of aspirin, ibuprofen and other NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs).
