Goldenseal has been used for centuries to fight infections, particularly of the mucous membranes including conjunctivitis. Clinical trials demonstrate conclusively that goldenseal kills many harmful bacteria. 1 capsule contains: 250 mg of goldenseal root powder extract standardized (5%) to supply 12.5 mg of hydrastine. Other ingredients: rice flour, gelatin and water. Dosage and use One to three capsules daily in divided doses are suggested. This product is only meant as an herbal antibiotic and should not be used continuously for more than one to two weeks. However, smaller doses such as are included in Life Extension Herbal Mix or Thymex may be taken continuously.
