The products listed here have been used by ketogenic patients as well as individuals trying maintain a low-carbohydrate diet. The ketogenic diet simulates the metabolism of a fasting body. "The ketogenic diet is a rigid, mathematically calculated, doctor-supervised diet. It is high in fat and low in carbohydrate and protein, containing three to five times as much fat as carbohydrate and protein combined.... The ketogenic diet improves control of seizures in nearly three-quarters of the children who try it and eliminates seizures, often permanently, in half the children who stick with it rigidly."
