$9.00 The Japanese, who have low rates of breast and prostate cancer, consume daily 20-80 mg of genistein, a phytochemical almost entirely derived from soybeans. But in the United States, the daily dietary intake of genistein is only 1 to 5 mg. When Japanese women move to the United States and consume the standard American diet, their risk of breast cancer increases dramatically. Previously, doctors thought that this was because of the high fat content of the western diet, but new studies fail to show a significant link between dietary fat and breast cancer risk. Some researchers now think that the increase in breast cancer results from a diet that is deficient in soy isoflavones. Genistein and other soy components provide anticancer protection by the following mechanisms: Blocking the cell mutating actions of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and other pollutants by preventing their binding to estrogen-testosterone cell receptor sites in the breast and prostate. Inhibition of the activity of tyrosine kinase, an enzyme required for most tumor cell proliferation. Inhibition of new blood vessel growth required to feed tumors. Inhibition of cancer cell protein synthesis. Induction of cancer cells to differentiate into normal cells. The following forms of cancer have been shown to respond favorably to soy adjuvant therapy: Prostate cancer Leukemia Glioblastoma multiforme Bladder cancer Other Medical Benefits of Soy According to published studies, the daily intake of sufficient soy isoflavones may: Alleviate post-menopausal symptoms Stimulate bone formation Inhibit LDL cholesterol oxidation Reduce total and LDL cholesterol levels Inhibit the development or progression of atherosclerosis Prevent gallstones Reduce the risk of cancer at multiple sites Protect kidney function Disease Prevention in Postmenopausal Women Dr. Sulistiyani of the Primate Research Center at Bogor Agricultural University in Indonesia stated that considering the increased risk of breast cancer and uterine cancer in women using estrogen drugs, one alternative is to take phytoestrogens, such as genistein, which have been shown to protect the heart against cardiovascular disease. In studies using Cynomolgus female monkeys who had their ovaries removed to simulate postmenopausal women, it was shown that genistein inhibited LDL (the harmful form of cholesterol) oxidation by 48%. When used in combination with vitamin E this effect was even more pronounced! In order to lower cholesterol, and especially the dangerous LDL fraction of cholesterol, it may be necessary to use one of the following soy supplements. One study showed soy protein powder lowered cholesterol levels in monkeys, but not soy isoflavones by themselves. Caution: Soy extracts have become very popular in the last few years as an adjuvant (assisting) cancer therapy. Treating cancer, however, is not simple, and some cancer patients are less likely to benefit from soy, while others should not use it at all. Those considering soy extract supplementation should remember that while it does have anticancer benefits that may work synergistically with other conventional and alternative cancer therapies, soy is not a cancer cure. Please refer to the Foundation’s Cancer Treatment protocols before using Ultra Soy Extract as an adjuvant cancer therapy. Using Soy Power Powder is an inexpensive way to gain the nutritional benefits of soy proteins and fatty acids at the same time as obtaining the health benefits of potent amounts of soy isoflavones. The average isoflavone breakdown of 15 grams of Soy Power shown below was determined by an independent assay. That result shows that consuming one to two tablespoons of Soy Power Powder daily will supply more isoflavones than the average daily Japanese diet. 1 rounded tablespoon (15 g) contains: Isoflavones 315 mg supplying: Genistein 1.2 mg Genistin 36 mg Daidzein 12.15 mg Daidzin 161.55 mg Glycitein 5.4 mg Glycitin 121.95 mg Saponin 495 mg Amino acids (all “L-” forms) in 15 g: Alanine 735 mg Arginine 1170 mg Aspartic acid 1455 mg Cystine 240 mg Glutamic acid 2055 mg Glycine 675 mg Histidine 390 mg Isoleucine 630 mg Leucine 1020 mg Lysine 1005 mg Methionine 270 mg Phenylalanine 624 mg Proline 630 mg Serine 730 mg Threonine 654 mg Tryptophan 180 mg Tyrosine 570 mg Valine 765 mg Lipid Composition: Oleic acid 15.4% Linoleic acid 53.8% (omega-6 essential fatty acid GLA precursor) Alpha linolenic acid 12.9% (omega-3 essential fatty acid EPA/DHA precursor) Saturated fats 17.5% Lecithin 1.8% Dosage and use One to two tablespoons daily are suggested. This product is most effectively utilized when taken with meals. Caution: Those taking more than one tablespoon of Soy Concentrate Powder daily should consider taking one tablespoon of flax oil or four capsules of Mega EPA fish oil capsules. Flax and fish oil provide a concentrated amount of the omega-3 essential fatty acids needed to balance out the high percentage of omega-6 essential fatty acids found in Soy Power Powder to facilitate weight management and overall good health.
